PMDC Restored while PMC Dissolved: Provincial MDCAT to be Conducted

Pakistan's National Assembly enacted legislation dissolving the Pakistan Medical Commission and restoring the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). National Licensing Exams NLE are also being phased out, according to the information. With the reinstatement of PMDC, former practises will be reinstated.
With the demise of PMC, the National MDCAT will no longer be held. According to prior patterns, provincial MDCATs will be administered by the appropriate provincial admitting institutions, namely UHS in Punjab, KMU in KP, and LUMHS in Sindh. Concerning the students' fees, it is envisaged that either the cost would be returned or the same charge will apply to all provincial MDCATs.
Hopefully, PMDC will make an announcement and address all students' fears in the coming days.
Because provincial institutions will administer the MDCAT, each province will follow the prior curriculum and structure. Students will only be needed to prepare for their provincial syllabus. MDCATs will be administered on paper, as has been done in the past. More information will be provided as soon as it is available.
