The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) provides the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant FLTA programme to English language instructors in Pakistan who want to improve their abilities and English language ability. The FLTA programme lasts nine months. FLTA will provide Urdu or Pashto instruction in American colleges and universities. This is a completely financed programme. The programme will begin in the fall of 2023.
Participants on the Fulbright FLTA may assist in up to 20 hours of language instruction per week and must enrol in at least two courses per semester, one of which must be US Studies. The remaining courses should be connected to their professions as English language teachers.

Fulbright FLTA Eligibility Criteria
- Pakistani national with a valid Pakistani Passport.
- Resident in Pakistan throughout the nomination and selection process.
- Be a young, early career educator.
- Minimum of 16 years of formal education.
- Be a teacher of the English language or a related field at the college or university level.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
How to Apply for the Fulbright FLTA Program 2023
By the application submission deadline, a complete application package, including academic transcripts and letters of reference, must be submitted online. This is a web-based application. No paper copies will be allowed.
The application deadline for Fulbright FLTA 2022 is July 20, 2022.
Women, persons with disabilities, and residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (FATA), AJK Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan, Northern Sindh, and Southern Punjab are strongly urged to apply.
